Micah Smith

A respected advisor for safety, health and incident response matters, Micah Smith’s clients rely on him to provide immediate support and legal guidance following a major accident. With a focus on OSHA and process safety matters, he has represented companies of all sizes in numerous industries, particularly petroleum refineries and chemical manufacturers.

Micah is a member of BakerHostetler’s Catastrophic Accident Response team, a one-stop shop composed of nationally recognized attorneys with deep experience in responding to catastrophic events.

When an incident occurs, he regularly manages investigations by agencies such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Environmental Protection Agency and Chemical Safety Board; conducts internal investigations; works with experts to determine likely causes of workplace accidents; and resolves enforcement actions. Micah is also well-versed at providing on-site tactical support for the affected facility and its personnel, as well as analyzing his client’s compliance with various environmental and safety regulations and standards, such as OSHA’s process safety management (PSM) standard and the EPA’s Risk Management Program (RMP).
