Dr. Timothy Worrall is a U.S. and international patent strategist, and chairs the Polsinelli Biotechnology Practice Group. Tim’s practice spans biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, materials, and energy out of Polsinelli’s Denver and San Francisco offices. He has developed and prosecuted multiple sophisticated worldwide patent portfolios that can be leveraged defensively to protect existing innovation, and offensively to protect intellectual property in a broader commercial context. His practice also includes patent due diligence from both investor and company perspectives, and providing freedom to practice, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions and analysis.
Tim holds a Ph.D. in Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and a J.D. and Certificate in Intellectual Property from the University of California-Berkeley (Boalt Hall). Prior to attending law school, he was a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
