Maya specialises in the care and treatment of prisoners across England and Wales, and has a particular interest in claims relating to the women’s prison estate and deaths in custody. She has expertise in claims relating to all areas of human rights and discrimination, access to healthcare and serious injury, and in judicial review proceedings. She also regularly represents bereaved families in inquest proceedings into deaths in custody arising from inadequate healthcare, suicide and violence.
