Max Lewis

Max’s practice primarily focusses on matrimonial finance and Schedule 1 cases, often involving substantial assets with complex company, tax and trust issues spread over various jurisdictions. He has a particular interest in the validity and recognition of marriages and divorces, and the interaction between civil and religious marriages. His reported cases include Tousi v Gaydukova [2024] 2 FLR 587, V v W (Jurisdiction: Dissolution of Pacte Civil de Solidarite) [2024] EWFC 111, Clarke v Clarke [2023] 2 FLR 1, Akhter v Khan and the Attorney-General [2019] 1 FLR 575, Alireza v Radwan [2018] 2 FLR 1333, K v K (nullity: bigamous marriage) [2017] 2 FLR 1055, Montalto v Popat and others [2016] EWHC 810 (Ch), P v P (variation of post-nuptial settlement) [2016] 1 FLR 537 and Mann v Mann [2014] 2 FLR 928.

Called to the Bar in 2002 (Gray’s Inn). Qualified as mediator in 2010 and as an Arbitrator in 2014.
