Partner at PPU expert in Intellectual Property / Life Sciences, Competition and Dispute Resolution. His practice includes assisting with the preparation of availability searches and preparing, filing, prosecuting, and monitoring trademark and patent applications. He also handles trademark and patent litigation proceedings such as the filing and defense of oppositions and cancellation actions, administrative, civil, and criminal litigation, as well as trademarks issues related to unfair competition.

Mauricio has advised several Colombian and international clients in cross-border intellectual property issues. He also leads the practice in dealings with the sanitary authorities as well as litigation resulting from procedures before said authorities.

​​He has a Law Degree from Escuela Mayor de Derecho Sergio Arboleda (1991).

-Counsel to Taquillalive S.A.S. in multiple consumer protection investigations initiated by the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC). Triggered by more than 200 consumer complaints, the investigations required extensive data analysis and strategic responses to seven detailed information requests.

-Counsel to Société des Produits Nestlé in order to achieve the well-known status recognition of the trademarks NESCAFÉ (WORD + DESIGN) and RED MUG (DESIGN) between November 2016 and May 2023, preventing both from dilution.

-Counsel to Amgen USA, Inc in the regulatory structure and legal opinion regarding the import of medical devices and rendering services for clinical trials in Colombia.
