Matthew’s practice is focused on tax litigation. Matthew has extensive experience in domestic and international matters with particular focus on the application of Canada’s general anti-avoidance rule.
Matthew leads the firm’s Toronto tax litigation group. Matthew has been involved in a number of landmark Canadian tax cases and has been widely recognized as a leader in tax dispute resolution. Matthew has appeared before all levels of court in Canada including the Supreme Court of Canada. Matthew’s clients include private equity funds, multi-national corporations, trust companies and high net worth individuals. Matthew is an editor of Tax Litigation Quarterly.
