Matías has focused his practice on environmental issues, advising companies in legal disputes before environmental authorities, as well as in the process of obtaining environmental permits, enforcement proceedings, environmental damage cases, and strategic planning in environmental matters.

Prior to joining Barros & Errázuriz, he was General Counsel of the Environmental Assessment Service, the Chilean public agency responsible for the environmental assessment of investment projects, where he actively participated in the preparation of the regulatory proposal of the Environmental Impact Assessment System, among other matters.
