Massimo Giaconia is Of Counsel to the EY Tax Group and has an extensive experience in international corporate taxation and private clients.

He has a significant knowledge of financial industry including leasing, pharmaceutical industry, information technology, oil and gas, industrial and consumer products, because of several engagements from clients in Italy, Europe and the US. He is involved in several Transfer Pricing Projects.

He is often lectures at conferences and seminars on taxation organized by Business Schools, specialized entities and Industrial Associations.

Career

Prior to joining the firm in 2020, he was Head of Tax at Baker & McKenzie and before Tax Partner of Ernst & Young. In 1999, he was also in charge of the Italian Tax Desk of Ernst & Young in New York City. He spent 3 years (1994/1997) with Maisto law firm and 5 years (1989/1994) as Head of Tax of Italian mutinationals (Agusta Elicotteri and Rizzoli Corriere della Sera)

Professional Memberships

He has an active role at IFA, International Fiscal Association (member of International Executive board from 2006 to 2012 and General Secretary of the Italian Branch from 2112 to 2025). He is currently the Italian representative at the European Region IFA board

He is providing assistance to AIDAF, the Italian chapter of Family business, as board member and adviser on tax matters.
