Marit advises and litigates on professional liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, and in the broad field of insurance law. Marit represents accountants and civil-law notaries in both civil-law and disciplinary proceedings. She also advises insurers about coverage issues, the interpretation of insurance contracts, and the drafting of policy terms and conditions. For her insurer clients she worked on large (international) coverage issues. For example, Marit represented directors' and officers' liability insurers in the settlement of the shareholders' claim against Fortis, and she litigates for insurers in disputes concerning the insurance of directors and supervisory directors of Imtech.
She also advises regularly in international insurance matters. At Kennedy Van der Laan, she is the contact of Global Access Lawyers, a worldwide platform that provides parties in the insurance sector easy access to reputable specialists in insurance and liability law.
