"María Eugenia has developed a strong practice in international investment arbitration in the past twelve years in Baker McKenzie Caracas office. Her ability to combine investment protection and double taxation treaties has guided clients when choosing the most favorable jurisdiction to invest. Local and international clients have reverted to her seeking her opinion on investment arbitration proceedings, investments restructuring and bilateral investment treaties. She advises clients on corporate restructuring, aiming to protect their investments against expropriations or alike measures issued by host States, and has successfully represented clients before ICSID and UNCITRAL tribunals.

Due to her experience in Dispute Resolution matters she's regularly invited to act as a panelist at international arbitration events locally and internationally. Maria Eugenia is also a professor of this subject at Monteavila University in Caracas and has been appointed arbitrator of the Business Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of the Venezuelan-American Chamber (CEDCA)."
