Marc specializes in energy and industrial projects. He mostly represents energy, chemical and waste companies, the energy-intensive sector, their shareholders and larger buyers. Marc is mainly involved in cases in which electricity, gas or heat, sustainable energy, energy subsidies, the energy transition and climate change play a key role. He further represents clients in energy related legal proceedings.
Marc is contributing editor to the Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Energierecht (Netherlands Energy Law Review). He teaches subjects relating to energy law, including in the context of ‘Energy on Location’, a postgraduate course at the University of Groningen. Marc is chair-emeritus of Lex Mundi’s Energy and Natural Resources Group. He is a member of the Dutch Association for Energy Law. Before joining Houthoff, Marc worked as in-house counsel at DSM and Energie Beheer Nederland.
