Marc Cavan

Marc Cavan is responsible for investment sourcing, due diligence, and monitoring of portfolio investments. He has significant experience litigating high-stakes patent cases in federal courts throughout the U.S., before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Prior to joining Longford, Marc was an intellectual property litigation partner at Sidley Austin LLP, Ropes & Gray LLP, and Baker McKenzie LLP. Marc has handled both patent enforcement and defense matters, as well as licensing, across a broad range of industries, including life sciences, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, software, wireless technology, automotive, financial services, and consumer products. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and was recognized by Chambers USA when he was in private practice.
