Russell J Genet

Russ serves on Longford Capital’s Investment Committee and is responsible for investment sourcing, underwriting and monitoring investments primarily involving intellectual property actions, such as inter partes reviews; patent, trademark and copyright infringement; and theft of trade secrets.

Prior to joining Longford Capital, Russ was a partner in the international firm Nixon Peabody, where he served as the leader of the firm’s IP Litigation Practice Group. Russ has defended and monetized intellectual property rights in a wide array of industries, including electronics, computers, software, telecommunications, and medical devices. Russ has extensive experience litigating complex intellectual property matters in federal courts throughout the United States and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has also prosecuted patent applications and represented clients in interferences, ex parte reexaminations, and inter partes reviews before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
