Manuel has a Degree in law and a PhD in law from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He has been with Squire for more than a decade. He joined Squire Sanders in 1999 as an associate and rejoined as a finance partner of Squire Patton Boggs in 2016.

Manuel is a partner in the Financial Services team and leads the banking and finance and projects team in the Madrid office of Squire Patton Boggs. He has extensive expertise in leveraged finance, project finance (particularly in renewables and infrastructure), debt restructuring and commercial real estate financings. In restructurings, Manuel has been involved as lead legal advisor in some of the most prominent restructuring and refinancing mandates in the last years. In the energy sector, Manuel is recognised as an experienced project finance practitioner representing lenders, borrowers and sponsors in the project financing of power plants from renewable energy sources on a variety of senior debt, project bond, mezzanine, unitranche and holdco structures. He is also active advising on receivables financings, structured trade finance and export-related transactions.
Manuel also acts on DCM transactions including MTN, green and project bonds
