Malin Tønseth

Malin Tønseth is privacy legal expert with more than 20 years' experience.

Tønseth is an experienced compliance lawyer with profound expertise in area of IT-law, data protection, media and digitalization issues. She is appointed head of the Norwegian Bar Association's the ICT and Data Privacy Committee. Tønseth has experience from leading law-firms and international industries (in-house legal counsel) as well as from regulatory authorities and Norwegian government. She worked among other four years in Norsk Hydro ASA, a leading international aluminium industry player, where she headed the organization’s global-wide privacy compliance strategy and network. Tønseth is now partner in Simonsen Vogt Wiig TMT-department and is heading the firm's Compliance & Risk team. She specializes in data protection legal issues and cyber security compliance, and has profound expertise in compliance framework, regulatory issues, investigations and risk management. Tønseth provides practical and hands-on advice and is also often engaged by large business, investors, financial institutions and other in connection with compliance assessments, due diligence and audits on business partners, as well as with issues arising from mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
