Lisa N. Collins

Practice Areas

Lisa Collins leads the Atlanta Intellectual Property team, chairs the Firmwide Patent Indemnification team and has over 18 years of experience in intellectual property, handling both IP transactions and litigation. She focuses her practice on the business of intellectual property and protecting her clients' technologies. Lisa regularly advises clients on IP strategy, licensing, privacy, trade secrets and portfolio management, handles numerous technology transactions and has diverted and recovered more than nine figures.

Lisa is also a seasoned litigator with extensive litigation and trial experience. She has tried several complex state and federal jury trials and specialized bench trials; has appeared as first and second chair before federal and state trial courts, administrative courts, and domestic and international arbitration panels; and has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Her litigation background, integrated with her transactional work in intellectual property, allows Lisa to have a deeper understanding of her clients’ business needs and concerns and to bring value to their businesses.

Lisa is a thought leader and accelerator in the areas of Inclusion and Diversity. Within the firm, she serves on the Firmwide Diversity Council and chairs the Black Affinity Group. She also co-chairs the Atlanta Office Inclusion and Diversity Committee and serves on the Firmwide Women’s Committee. Within the community, Lisa serves on the Board of Directors and Vice President for the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (“GABWA”) Foundation, Inc. and as the immediate past Program Development Chair and current Symposium Co-Chair for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, Alumni Executive Council. Additionally, she is a member of the 2020 Class of Leadership Atlanta. Lisa is very active in the Atlanta community and was the longest serving chair of GABWA’s signature fundraising event, the Glitter Gala. Lisa is also the immediate past President of the Georgetown Club of Metropolitan Atlanta and serves on the University’s and Law School’s Board of Governors and Law Alumni Board, respectively.
