Lindsey Tonsager

Ms. Tonsager is based in San Francisco and is a Vice Chair of the Global Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group. Her name is often cited by leading journals and newspapers including the FT, Global Data Review, The Wall Street Journal and others, as a nationally recognized expert on the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and children’s privacy, as well as being listed as a top AI lawyer by the Daily Journal.

Clients across a broad range of industries turn to Ms. Tonsager to anticipate and evaluate legal and reputational risks under state, federal and international data privacy and security laws. Her practical product counseling has launched innovative new products and services that implicate the laws governing the use of AI, data processing for IoT devices, biometric information, behavioral advertising, endorsements and testimonials in advertising and social media, the collection of personal information from children and students online, e-mail marketing, telecommunications, and new technologies.

Lindsey is working with clients to seek amendments to the regulations implementing the CCPA and enactment of federal and state privacy laws. She is representing multiple clients in enforcement actions before the FTC and state attorneys general.
