Kristín Edwald joined LEX in 2002 and has been partner since 2005. Chairman of the board of LEX since 2022.

Previously she was on the legal staff at Counsel Office at Suðurlandsbraut 4a, subsequently Logos Law firm from 1997-2000. A legal expert at the Economic Crimes Unit of the National Commissioner of Police from 2000-2002. Board of the Icelandic Bar Association 2020 – 2022, Vice Chairman 2021 - 2022. Is and has been on a number of boards and committees. Lecturer at Reykjavik University Faculty of Law. Instructor in bar admission courses, (litigation and preparation of court documents), for certification in legal practice before the District Courts since 2004.

Kristín is one of the most experienced litigation lawyers in Iceland having extensive experience of litigation before the district courts, Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Iceland. In addition, Kristin has experience in litigation before the European Court of Human Rights.

She is among the country’s leading experts in the field of law of tort and insurance law. For years, Edwald has been the partner supervising all legal matters and disputes for Sjova-Almennar Tryggingar hf., one of Iceland’s three main insurance companies. In this regard, she oversees several disputes argued before the courts in Iceland each year. Ms. Edwald also has vast experience in the field of corporate law, specializing in due diligence on medium and large sized enterprises and being of counsel for Board of Directors.
