Kate is a family law specialist and has practised in family throughout her professional career firstly as a Solicitor and then as a Barrister
Kate’s practice focuses on both public and private law children matters but with a particular emphasis on child protection work
In public law children work, Kate represents local authorities, parents, children and extended family members
Kate has experience of handling cases involving suspected non accidental injury, sexual abuse, neglect and serious, including fatal, domestic abuse cases. Kate also has extensive experience in cases where there are parental mental health, learning disability or capacity issues, concerns around substance misuse/addiction and cases involving children with complex medical and/or educational needs. Kate regularly advises and acts in fact finding hearings requiring forensic analysis of medical and expert evidence.
Kate has experienced cases involving reporting restriction orders and publicity.
