Jürg Frick is a banking and finance specialist whose main focus is on syndicated debt financing, international bond offerings, venture capital and buyout financing, real estate transactions, restructurings and insolvency law as well as financial services and collective investment regulations.
Career
Jürg Frick was admitted to the Swiss bar in 2000. After being legal counsel of a start-up company, he joined Homburger in 2002. From 2006 to 2008 he worked as an associate for Simpson Thacher in London, where he advised on private equity and high yield bond transactions. In 2014, he became partner at Homburger.
Professional Memberships
Swiss Bar. International Bar Association. Member of the Banking & Finance Law Committee (BFLC) and Co-Chair of the BFLC Conferences Sub-Committee. He is a lecturer at the Masters of Law Program (LL.M.) at the University of Zurich and member of the Editorial Board of Global Restructuring Review (GRR).
Publications
Jürg Frick regularly publishes articles and lectures on topics related to capital market law, private equity financings, syndicated lending, fund regulation as well as asset management and trusts and trustee regulations. He is, among others, co-editor of the leading commentary on the Swiss Collective Investment Schemes Act (CISA).
Personal
Jürg Frick studied law at the Universities of Zurich and Neuchâtel, and in 2005 he received a Masters Degree (LL.M.) from the Harvard Law School. In 2009, he graduated as Dr. iur. from the University of Zurich with a thesis on «Private Equity under Swiss Law». In 2021, both Who’s Who Legal as well as Lexology Client Choice awarded him the title «Swiss Banking Lawyer of the Year» and in 2025, he won the Legal Community of Switzerland Award as Banking & Finance Lawyer of the Year.
