Practice focuses on financial services regulatory and civil law matters, offerings of regulatory instruments by banks, as well as capital markets and asset-based financing transactions. Regularly represents financial institutions in banking litigation, regulatory proceedings and investigations. Areas of work also include corporate matters, debt restructurings, platforms and open banking solutions.
Career
Qualified in 1992. Joined Homburger 1994. Worked in corporate finance with UBS Investment Bank 1999-2000. Became Partner in 2002 and headed the Financial Services practice 2015-2023. Co-Chair of the Banking and Finance Law Committee of the IBA in 2020/2021.

Numerous publications on financial services regulation, bank contracts, crypto, securities and corporate law. Author in the Zurich Commentaries on the Swiss Federal Intermediated Securities Act (enforcement of collateral, 2013) and the Financial Services Act (conduct rules, 2021) and in the Basel Commentaries on the Swiss Banking Act (consolidated supervision, 2026), the Swiss Code of Obligations (loans and credits, 2025), the Swiss Financial Institutions Act (consolidated supervision, fund management companies, 2021) and the Swiss FINMA and Financial Market Infrastructure Acts (independent investigator and market abuse, 2019).

Born 1964. Graduated as lic. iur. (summa cum laude, 1989) and Dr. iur. (summa cum laude, 1994) from the University of Berne. MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau 1999.
