Julio is a partner in ALTA El Salvador and the founder of the local office. With more than twenty years of experience, his passion is transactional practice, mergers and acquisitions, financing projects, venture capital, and new technologies.
He has led and coordinated legal advice in projects and transactions of mergers and acquisitions of companies with operations in multiple countries, including the United States, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, countries in South America and the Caribbean.
Actively participates in advising and structuring financing processes, securitizations and mergers and acquisitions transactions. The mergers and acquisitions processes in which he has participated exceed USD $1,000,000,000, including acquisition processes in banking, the technology sector, industry, the real estate sector, among others.
He began his practice in banking and continued advising on financing under the figure of project finance, syndicated loans, financing to regulated entities and corporate financing. He has advised development financial institutions (DFIs) for more than 10 years on their financing of local banks and financing of infrastructure projects. The financing projects on which he has advised exceed USD $700,000,000, including financing for commercial banks, financing for regulated entities, among others, and securitization programs that exceed USD $450,000,000.
He obtained his doctorate in private law and currently contributes to the academic sector by being part of doctoral thesis examining boards in the doctoral program in private law at the José Matías Delgado University.
