Juan Ignacio Peña

Juan Ignacio leads the Real Estate, Engineering, Construction, Project Finance, and Corporate practices. He has been actively involved in numerous and diverse projects, including residential, commercial, and office real estate developments; hydroelectric power plants; mining and airport projects; hotels; shopping malls; schools; universities; and other educational facilities. His work has encompassed the negotiation and acquisition of real estate, urban planning and zoning regulations, construction contract negotiations, claims, commercialization, litigation, and related matters.

He was a partner at HD Legal from 2017 to 2026. Prior to joining HD Legal, he served as Head of Real Estate Legal Affairs and subsequently as Head of Corporate Legal Affairs at Salfacorp S.A. (2005–2009), and as Legal Deputy Manager at Empresas Socovesa (2009–2013).

Since 2025, he has served as Director and Secretary of the Chilean Society of Construction Law. He has also served as a director and advisor to various companies, including regulated entities such as General Fund Administrators.

He holds a law degree from Universidad de los Andes, obtained in 2003, and a Master’s Degree in Tax Management from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, obtained in 2010.
