Alberto Vergara Arteaga

Alberto has experience advising clients, companies, entities, and organizations on public, constitutional, and administrative law, banking and financial regulation, antitrust, corporate governance, consumer protection, litigation, and arbitration.

Before joining DP Group, he was Head of Litigation at Scotiabank Chile from 2018 to 2024, where he was part of team that managed the merger and integration of BBVA Chile and Scotiabank. He served as Head of Litigation, Regulation, and Corporate Governance at BBVA Chile from 2016 to 2018. He was an associate at Arteaga & Gorziglia from 2014 to 2016; Legal Counsel to the Ministry of Education from 2012 to 2014; Coordinator of the Legal Division at the Ministry General Secretariat of the Presidency from 2010 to 2012, advising President Sebastián Piñera during administration; and an associate at Baker & McKenzie from 2003 to 2010.

He has served as a member of board of directors of Iplacex S.A. since 2024. He is a professor at the Public Law Department of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he has taught since 2003.

He holds a law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, in 2003. He holds an LL.M. from Northwestern University in Chicago, United States, in 2007.
