José Tomás is one of the founding partners of our firm and he co-heads its Natural Resources, Mining and Energy Department. He concentrates his practice in Mining and Energy, M&A, Environmental Law and Sanctioning Proceedings, Project Development and Real Estate. Mr. Barrueto has a unique expertise advising clients on issues related to the Chilean environmental assessment impact system, the Chilean Environmental Superintendence and the Chilean Environmental Courts.

He has advised a broad range of local and foreign clients in his areas of expertise, participating in some of the most relevant legal matters occurred in the country in such fields. Likewise, Mr. Barrueto has extensive experience advising clients on issues related to the environmental assessment impact system, the Environmental Superintendence and the Environmental Courts.

José Tomás is one of the Chilean members of the Joint Public Advisory Committee (JPAC) of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation between Chile and Canada.
