Ignacio has over 20 years of professional experience. He joined Bertrand-Galindo Barrueto Barroilhet & Cía. in April 2026, where he leads the Environmental Law practice, providing comprehensive regulatory advice to companies across a broad range of matters, including project development, environmental permitting, socio-environmental litigation, environmental assessment procedures, inspections and enforcement proceedings, constitutional protection actions, environmental damage claims, regulatory emergencies, compliance audits, circular economy, climate change, human rights, and constitutional law matters.
He also has prior experience in the public sector, having served at the Environmental Superintendence as both attorney and Chief of Staff (2010–2013).
Ignacio has built a distinguished career in Environmental Law and Sustainability, serving as professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile Law School, where he serves as Director of its Corporate Sustainability Program, a center specialized on businesses impacts, particularly environmental and social, with a strong focus on the topic of human rights, corporate due diligence, and materiality assessment. He teaches courses at both graduate and undergraduate level.
