José Gutiérrez Mestre

Lawyer admitted to practice in Colombia with L.L.M in International and Comparative Law, Secretary and Arbitrator of the Arbitration and Conciliation Centers of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce. He has more than 25 years of experience as legal advisor to Colombian and foreign companies, with an emphasis on litigation and private law.

Leader of the dispute resolution department, he has consolidated its practice in domestic and international arbitration, while also growing in domestic jurisdiction disputes and Consumer Law procedures before the Colombian Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, mostly regarding complex corporate, commercial, and public procurement cases involving prominent ranked players within different industry sectors.

He has managed several Corporate litigation cases focused, among others, on post M&A contentious matters, Directors’ and Officers’ liability claims and shareholders disputes before international and domestic arbitration tribunals and the Colombian Superintendence of Companies. He has represented foreign investors, national/international corporations and private individuals, representing their interests in different roles in a wide range of disputes.
