Jorge Salazar Cebrián

Jorge has 20 years of professional experience and is a partner of Baker McKenzie's Tax Practice Group. He joined the Firm in 2003 and in 2016 was named Partner of the Firm. He is experienced in tax litigation, administrative, legal protection, and tax planning, since he has broad experience in the constitutionality of tax laws and taxpayers' defense against the actions of the tax and administrative authorities in the exercise of their review and enforcement powers.

Before joining the Firm, Jorge was an in-house lawyer in GNP (Grupo Nacional Provincial, S.A.) and was an auxiliary attorney for the Seventh Civil Judge in the State of Nuevo Leon.

Jorge focuses his practice on tax and administrative litigation. He has participated in defending taxpayers against unconstitutional tax and administrative laws, as well as against the actions of the tax and administrative authorities (i.e. SAT, SENER, CRE, ASEA, PROFECO, among others) in the exercise of their audit powers. Also, he has participated in multiple tax audits performed by the tax authorities, in proceedings (i.e. conclusive agreements, complaints) before the PRODECON, as well as in the MAP procedures with competent authorities. In addition, he is knowledgeable about tax planning. He has provided professional services to multinational corporations, consolidated groups, and companies that are part of the energy and petroleum sector, manufacturing sector, automotive sector, mining sector, among others.

Likewise, Jorge has extensive experience in the analysis and interpretation of the Anti-Money Laundering Law.
