John's primary focus is Environmental Law, including litigation, regulatory permitting and enforcement, natural resource damages, property due diligence and contractual matters in Mississippi and other southeastern states. John also represents clients in lobbying activities concerning environmental and other business and industry issues that come before the Mississippi Legislature.
John previously served Chair of the ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. He has been inducted into the American College of Environmental Lawyers and the American Bar Foundation. With regard to business and industry associations in Mississippi, he serves as counsel for the Mississippi Manufacturers Association, the Mississippi Poultry Association and the Mississippi Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Stores Association.
John is a member of the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Energy Institute. John is a current member of the Board of Trustees of the Mississippi Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, having served as the Board Chair for five years.
