John McGhee has wide experience in a broad range of chancery and commercial litigation. He has particular expertise in property-relating work but his practice equally encompasses banking, commercial fraud, professional negligence and company disputes. Recent cases include: Re Game Station  EWCA Civ 180 (scope of administration expenses); Tindall Cobham v. Adda Hotels  EWCA Civ 1215 (effect of Landlord and Tenant (Covenants) Act on intra group assignment provisions in leases); Chelsfield Advisers v Qatari Diar  EWHC 1322 (Ch) (disputed termination of development management agreement); Canary Wharf Finance II v. Deutsche Trustee Company  EWHC 100 (Comm) (whether terms of redemption of loan notes included ‘Spens payment’) and Generator and Lidl  EWCA Civ 396 (joint venture constructive trusts). He also advises in non-litigious matters, such as the trusts and property aspects of proposed investment and tax schemes.
