John is the Deputy President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT), having been a Council member since 2014. He previously chaired the CIOT’s Technical Policy and Oversight Committee. He sits on the Private Client (International) and Private Client (UK) committees and was a former member of HMRC’s General Anti-Abuse Rule (GAAR) panel. He was previously chair of judges for the STEP Private Client Awards.
Particular experience in advising private banks on tax reputation, tax-related products and tax controversy.
