Jodi Daniel leads Crowell & Moring's Digital Health and MedTech Practice. She provides strategic, legal, and policy advice to health care providers, health plans, technology companies, and life sciences companies that are developing or incorporating innovative technologies into health care. She is outcomes driven and adept at navigating the dynamic regulatory environment to find ways for clients to meet their business goals. Specifically, she advise on health data use, privacy and security, interoperability, patient access to data, FDA oversight of digital health tools, and implementation of telehealth and remote monitoring activities, including reimbursement and state regulation.
Prior to joining Crowell & Moring, Jodi was the founding director of the Office of Policy in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) where she developed foundational policies promoting the use of health information technology and interoperability. Jodi served as the first Senior Counsel for Health IT in the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) at HHS and was one of the lead drafters of the HIPAA privacy and enforcement rules.
