Jo Sanders

Jo leads Withersworldwide's media and reputation team in London. She advises clients on information risk, privacy and reputation arising from their personal or professional lives.

Described as ‘calm and insightful’, Jo guides clients through distressing situations including blackmail threats, damaging media or online stories, harassment or family disputes. Recently she has helped clients avoid unwarranted publicity of details of their home, and obtained correction of a false digital footprint that had persisted for years. On the crisis front she has supported clients caught up in news events to help ensure fair and accurate reporting. She has acted for academics, actors and writers, financiers, doctors, business owners and political figures.

She works alongside other professional advisers for clients on privacy planning for key life events, and taking other pro-active steps to ensure the accuracy of recorded personal data, including the verification of profiles in online due diligence databases. Reflecting the expansion of global data sharing, Jo's expertise includes all information such as breach of confidence, data protection rights and loss or misuse of personal data.

Jo was previously a news journalist and PR adviser before becoming a media litigator.
