Jo leads Withersworldwide's media and reputation team in London. She advises clients on information risk, privacy and reputation arising from their personal or professional lives.

Described as ‘calm and insightful’, Jo guides clients through distressing situations including blackmail threats, false media or online stories, or harassment. Recently she has helped clients avoid unwarranted publication of details of their home and those concerned about misuse of personal data or confidential information. On the crisis front she has supported clients caught up in news events to help ensure fair and accurate reporting, and to make sure that a client was given a proper opportunity to respond to a high-profile public report. She has acted for academics, actors and writers, financiers, doctors, business owners and political figures.

She works alongside other professional advisers for clients on privacy planning for key life events, and taking other pro-active steps to ensure the accuracy of recorded personal data, including the verification of profiles in online due diligence databases.

Career

Jo was previously a news journalist and PR adviser before becoming a media litigator.
