Regularly instructed across the full range of employment disputes. Particular interest in whistleblowing and discrimination claims. Currently acting for the claimants in the high-value supermarket equal pay litigation against Tesco Stores Ltd and for the respondent, the University of Oxford, in EAT appeals on the justification of its retirement age policy (led by Sean Jones QC).
Mixed-practice reflects a focus on the intersection of commercial and public law. In the past year, instructions include anonymity matters for the FCA in the High Court and the ICO in the Court of Appeal (sole counsel), defending judicial review challenges to school reorganisations (led by Jonathan Auburn and Peter Oldham QC) and challenging a HMCTS procurement for a £280m contract (led by Peter Oldham QC and Joe Barratt).
