Jay L. Lubetkin represents parties in interest in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy cases, including business and individual debtors, trustees, secured creditors, committees, plan proponents, landlords, liquidators, and equity interest holders. He is also a respected mediator on the register maintained by the Clerk of the New Jersey Bankruptcy Court and has conducted numerous successful mediations.
Jay is a Chapter 11 trustee by appointment from the U.S. Trustee’s Office and Chapter 7 panel trustee for the District of New Jersey, where he has administered over 10,000 bankruptcy cases. Jay also maintains substantial real estate, commercial litigation, and transactional practices. He brings the unique combination of a Wharton degree, substantial real-world business experience and a sophisticated understanding of the complex nuances of the legal process to his practice.
Jay is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of New Jersey and Georgia. He is also a three-term member of the New Jersey District V-B Ethics Committee, and regularly serves as a panel chair hearing and determining grievances respecting alleged violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
Mr. Lubetkin is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and the prestigious Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
