Partner in the Aboriginal Law and Litigation Groups at Cassels, and co-lead of the firm’s national Aboriginal Law Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. Provides clients with strategic and practical advice on Aboriginal title and rights related litigation. Manages and leads a significant number of the Aboriginal Law Group’s litigation mandates across Canada. Frequently represents and advises governments (including provincial, local, and municipal governments), industry stakeholders in various sectors, and private landowners in connection with, and in response to, Aboriginal rights and title litigation matters. Jared also advises clients on issues pertaining to the duty to consult, Indigenous self-governance, and constitutional law. Has represented clients at the Supreme Court of Canada. Called to the bar in Manitoba, British Columbia, and New Brunswick.
