Janneke Kohlen

Practice Areas

Competition & EU Law. Specialises in competition law and public procurement law advising a wide variety of clients on both contentious and non-contentious issues. Janneke is highly appreciated and recommended by her clients and has substantial experience in merger control, cartel cases and abuse of dominance. Janneke has broad expertise in advising on distribution agreements and frequently provides in-house competition compliance programs and trainings to clients. She also has extensive experience in drafting Codes of Conducts for companies with a focus on competition law.

In addition, she regularly assists and represents clients in public procurement litigation but also in the process of submitting an offer.

Career

Admitted to the bar in 2005. Before joining Bird & Bird in 2009, Janneke worked for another top tier law firm in the Netherlands. Janneke was promoted to partner in 2017.

Member of the Dutch Associations for Competition Law and Public Procurement Law.

Publications

Publishes regularly and is co-editor for the European and Economic chapter of the Dutch journal 'Juridisch Up To Date'.
