Practice Areas

Jane was one of the first lawyers in London to specialise in representing the interests of the policyholder and has helped many companies and individuals to improve their policy wordings and to resolve coverage disputes with their insurers where claims have been denied altogether or the amount has been disputed by insurers. Jane’s experience ranges from advising on property, business interruption, construction and rights of light policies to political risk, directors & officers, crime and professional indemnity policies. Most coverage disputes Jane deals with are resolved without the need for litigation, by corresponding and meeting with insurers’ or loss adjusters or their solicitors or by early mediation but, where necessary Jane has litigated insurance claims including up to the Court of Appeal. Clients appreciate Jane’s pragmatic and commercial approach to the resolution of disputes with insurers which is aided by her long experience in the resolution of commercial disputes of all kinds. Jane has been ranked as a leading individual for several years.
