James Marrow

Practice Areas

James Marrow is an appellate specialist with considerable experience in civil trials and appeals. He has won cases as both a trial and appellate lawyer, and from both sides of the dockets. Mr. Marrow has particular experience in appeals involving commercial disputes. Previously, he worked as a staff attorney with the Fourteenth Court of Appeals, handling original mandamus proceedings and complex appellate matters while preparing close to 100 draft opinions for the justices. He is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, is a past chair of the Houston Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Section, and has been named both a “Super Lawyer” (by Thomson Reuters) and one of the “Best Lawyers” in America in appellate law. Mr. Marrow is an Eagle Scout, the father of two more Eagle Scouts, and a frequent author and speaker on the topics of legal writing and appellate law.
