Career

James is the founding partner of ChingCheng Attorneys at Law, a full-service law firm based in Taipei, as well as the founder of China Intellectual Property Information and Consulting Co., which operates offices in Taipei, Nanjing, and Shanghai. He previously worked as an attorney with Giant IP Group and Baker & McKenzie (Taipei office), and served as Head of Legal for leading companies in the LED and semiconductor sectors. His legal practice is supported by extensive academic and consulting experience. James notably served as a lecturer at the Graduate Institute of Intellectual Property at the National Taipei University of Technology and acted as a visiting scholar at both the University of California, Berkeley and Columbia Law School.

Publications

James is the author of The Commercialization of Pharmaceutical Patents in China, published by Edward Elgar Publishing in March 2021. This work provides a detailed analysis of the Chinese pharmaceutical sector from a patent law and commercialization perspective.
