James joined Stevens & Bolton in 2007, having trained and qualified into the private client team at a City law firm. He became a partner at Stevens & Bolton in 2019.
James acts for both UK and non-UK domiciled individuals, families, executors and trustees, advising them on UK tax and inheritance/succession planning. He has a wealth of experience in drafting bespoke wills and complex trust structures and is experienced in dealing with matters with a cross-border element, particularly when it comes to the EU Succession Regulation.
James also advises clients on both establishing and administering employee benefit trusts.
James has been listed in the "Excellence" category of Legal Week’s Private Client Global Elite Directory 2024. James is a member of STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
