He specializes in advising private equity and hedge fund managers on a broad spectrum of legal issues including fund formation and structuring, acquisitions and disposals, fund restructuring and fund financing.
He has advised on the structuring and launch of Japan Activation Capital I L.P., a highly innovative, open-ended fund focusing on equities listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange with commitments of almost US$1 billion at launch. In addition, James has an active corporate practice which includes providing general corporate advice on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.
