James Gaden is a partner in our Corporate and Investment Funds Group. He has over 20 years of experience advising the investment funds industry. He specializes in advising private equity and hedge fund managers on a broad spectrum of legal issues including fund formation and structuring, acquisitions and disposals, fund restructuring and fund financing.
He has advised on the structuring and launch of Japan Activation Capital I L.P., a highly innovative, open-ended fund focusing on equities listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange with commitments of almost US$1 billion at launch. In addition, James has an active corporate practice which includes providing general corporate advice on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.
