Ivan Szymanski is a Partner at Vázquez Tercero & Zepeda and Head of the firm’s Antitrust and Compliance practice. With more than 15 years of professional experience, his practice focuses on Competition (Antitrust) Law, Corporate/M&A and Compliance, advising domestic and international clients on complex, high-stakes regulatory and transactional matters.

Ivan regularly advises multinational companies on cross-border M&A transactions, including the preparation, drafting and filing of concentration notices (merger control applications) before Mexican competition authorities, as well as on strategy and advocacy throughout merger review processes. He also represents clients in dawn raids, antitrust investigations and enforcement proceedings, providing strategic counsel in sensitive and time-critical scenarios.

He has extensive experience assisting companies operating in Mexico with antitrust risk management, including the design, implementation and enhancement of antitrust and anti-corruption compliance programs aligned with international best practices. Ivan is particularly recognized for his expertise in managing large-scale antitrust e-discovery and document review projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and technology-driven workflows.
