Ignacio Díez-Picazo is Chair Professor of Procedural Law at the Complutense University of Madrid and Partner at Díez-Picazo Abogados.

Prior to running his own firm, Ignacio was Director of the Litigation and Arbitration Practice at Linklaters in Madrid from 2003 to 2008, and Partner of Litigation and Arbitration at Herbert Smith Madrid from 2009 to 2011.

Ignacio has more than 25 years of experience in complex civil and commercial litigation and in domestic and international arbitration.

He has served as arbitrator and counsel in arbitration and litigation in more than 100 cases.

Ignacio has been ranked in "Dispute Resolution: Most in Demand Arbitrators (Spain)" in Chambers and Partners, in Europe and Global Guides, from 2022 to 2024.

He was a member of the section of the Codification Commission responsible for the drafting of the Spanish Arbitration Act (2003).

Ignacio has been member of the Arbitrator Appointment Committee of the Madrid Court of Arbitration (2017-2020). He is also co-director of the Forum "International Arbitration and Litigation" at FIDE since 2010.

He is President of Club Español de la Litigación de los Negocios, founded in 2023.

Ignacio speaks Spanish, English and Italian.
