Ibai began his career in the Financial Law department at Uría Menéndez and has since developed extensive experience in banking and finance, as well as M&A transactions.

A corporate and commercial lawyer, Ibai advises Spanish and international companies on a broad range of business law matters, including corporate governance, commercial contracts, M&A transactions, employment-related issues, and the day-to-day legal needs arising from their operations in Spain.

His practice includes advising financial institutions and other regulated businesses on corporate governance, Board and Executive Committee secretarial matters, strategic transactions, joint ventures, regulatory issues, and the structuring of cross-border business activities.

Particular experience has also been developed in employment and HR-related matters arising in the context of corporate projects, organisational changes, senior management arrangements, internal policies, outsourcing, commercial restructuring, and the establishment or expansion of operations in Spain. Ibai works closely with management teams and external HR advisers to provide practical, business-oriented legal support.

Multinational groups also rely on his advice on corporate and commercial matters, particularly in navigating governance, contractual, operational, and regulatory issues across their Spanish businesses.

Alongside his legal practice, Ibai lectures on Corporate and Financial Law at several Spanish universities.
