I am founder at Hui Ling Law Practice, leading new frontiers in aviation finance and the transportation industry. I focus on bespoke and high-value transactions advising the world’s largest and most reputable financing houses, aircraft leasing companies, airlines and manufacturers.

My experience is unique, having led many first-of-its kind large ticket deals, and headline deals in excess of USD 2.8 billion. I have a breadth of client and deal exposure across SE Asia, S. Asia, N. Asia, Europe and the Americas that has consistently led her deals to be recognised as ‘innovative deal of the year’ amongst other accolades by AirFinance Journal, the China Air Finance Development Summit and Global Transport Finance.

Passionate about developing and supporting the energy transition in the transportation & logistics sector, I serve as sustainability sub-committee lead for Women in Aviation International Singapore. I also provide guidance in designing green and sustainable finance and investment, and has appeared on many panels on these topics at key industry events.

Career

Prior to founding our boutique practice, I was partner at an international law firm and spent most of my career in a tier 1 legal practice in the transportation & space sector.

As a boutique law practice, my team and I strive make key changes to enhance legal services:

#1 to create a community around the theme of new technology and sustainability in Transportation & Space industries, helping a niche network reach into necessary ancillary fields of energy storage, renewable energy sources and the skilled financing community to catalyse all of these developments

#2 to prioritise learning, impact, and vision as key drivers, and profit as a secondary driver of our work

#3 to rethink & rediscover what drives maximum value for clients (humble office, breathable clothes, technology enabled services)

Personal

I am an equally proud and tortured mom of 2 boys, and daughter of an entrepreneur (mom) and a civil servant (dad).

After deciding that my strong-headed nature was categorically unsuitable for married life, life sent me humbling challenges that turned out to be a great reward, meeting my husband and the honor of raising a family.

My husband is the chief strategy officer in my life [but/and (see the nuance?)] also does the cooking and has been the key champion for my career (both income & impact).

I take calculated risks in my life and career, including writing this Chambers profile listing that is slightly entertaining and more personable. Why do we continue to make ourselves sound like robots, such that AI authored language sounds even more personable than us? If you are seeing this now (and thank you for getting this far), it means no one has sent in negative feedback yet!
