Marcelo has a well-established reputation as a leading arbitrator in Brazil and is considered a leading light in the Brazilian arbitration field, as well as a greatly experienced litigator. He is particularly active in M&A, investment, energy, and real estate arbitration cases.
Career
Marcelo is a founding partner of Huck, Otranto, Camargo Advogados. Before that, he worked at other law firms and has extensive academic experience (as listed below).
He holds a PhD (1982) in International Law from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), an LLM from the University of California, Berkeley, and an LLB (1965) from USP.
Professional Memberships
Marcelo has been a member of numerous national and international legal entities, such as the Institute of Lawyers of Brazil, the Inter-American Bar Association and the Institute of International Law of USP. He is a former professor of Public Law at the School of Business Administration of São Paulo from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV-SP) and professor of International Law at USP.
