Hélder Frias has joined Uría Menéndez in 2006 and is a partner since 2025.

He focuses his activity on banking, finance and insurance law, with more than 18 years' experience advising domestic and foreign clients on mergers and acquisitions of financial institutions, banking-insurance alliances, joint ventures, transfers of insurance portfolios and the regulatory aspects inherent in these markets, including credit intermediation and insurance distribution activities.

Hélder also regularly provides legal advice on regulatory and supervisory issues related to the financial and insurance activities (namely banking, financial intermediation and payment services), including granting loans, setting up guarantees, factoring, buying and selling credits, money laundering, venture capital and financial products and instruments in the retail and investment banking and insurance activities (capitalisation and unit-linked life insurance operations). He also advises clients on debt restructurings and NPL transactions.
