Hari Narayen (Ralph) Ramkarran was admitted to practice in Guyana in 1973 having qualified as a barrister of Gray’s Inn, London, England, in 1972.
He became an attorney-at-law when the two branches of the legal profession were merged.
He joined Cameron & Shepherd in 1977, became a partner in 1982 and has been the firm’s Senior Partner since 2005. He was appointed a Senior Counsel in 1996.
Mr. Ramkarran served as a member of the Bar Council for over ten years and is a past secretary of the Guyana Bar Association.
He was Chairman of the Constitution Reform Commission in 1999-2000 and Speaker of the National Assembly from 2001 to 2011.
